Connecticut Harassment Training

In the Connecticut legislative session of 2019, the General Assembly passed and the Governor of Connecticut signed, Public Acts 19-16 and 19-93, which together became the Time’s Up Act, expanding the Connecticut sexual harassment law, which includes various requirements for employers. Connecticut harassment training requirements include: Connecticut Employers are now required to provide a copy of information regarding the illegality of sexual harassment and remedies available to victims, to new employees. Employers must provide to all existing employees, by October 1, 2020, two hours of workplace harassment training. Within six months of being employed, Connecticut employers must provide two hours of sexual harassment training and education to new employees. Employers must provide two hours of Connecticut harassment training and education to all existing supervisory employees, if the employer has fewer than three employees, by October 1, 2020, or within six months to new supervisory employees. Also, periodic supplemental sexual harassment training must be provided not less than every ten years.
