Harassment Training Requirements Washington State
Washington state harassment training requirements (SB 5258) is Washington’s law pertaining to sexual harassment training which affects certain industries. The workplace harassment law applies to employers in retail, hotel, motel, security and property services contractor industries where at least one person is employed. A property services contractor is an entity or a person that employs commercial janitorial services workers, with some exceptions. The Washington State Office of the Attorney General provides a one-page flyer which explains the definition and types of sexual harassment, workplace harassment avoidance requirements for employers and steps employees can take if they’ve become victims of sexual harassment. The flyer also provides steps for employees that have witnessed sexual harassment. The flyer is available in both English and Spanish.
